Pieter is a research fellow at the Process and Environmental Technology Lab within the Chemical Engineering Department of KU Leuven. He holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering Technology (De Nayer Instituut, 2008) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (KU Leuven, 2016). His main research domains include (i) advanced wastewater treatment technologies (advanced oxidation processes, moving bed bioreactor technologies) and (ii) nutrient recovery (in agricultural applications) and (iii) corrosion behavior of materials in environments relevant within wastewater treatment. He has (co-)authored 16 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and proceedings of international conferences.
